Good Cars That Cost Less Than $20,000
Deep down, most of us want an automobile that looks cool – but most of us are also on a budget when it comes to shopping for a new vehicle and generally have to compromise between coolness and cost. However, if you look around, there are great value cars available that also tick many of the “cool” boxes.
2018 Mazda3
The 2018 Mazda3 drives beautifully, looks cool, and can easily seat four adults in comfort. It’s available for less than $20,000. The features on this car would grace one twice the price: they include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning systems, a rearview camera, Bluetooth connectivity, touchscreen-controlled infotainment system, heated front seats, six-speaker audio, and climate control – you might find it difficult to remember that you only paid less than $20,000.
2018 Chevrolet Cruze
The 2018 Chevrolet Cruze is available in a new satin steel gray metallic color, with four trim levels available depending on your budget. Even the basic L trim package includes Chevrolet’s MyLink user-friendly infotainment touchscreen system, four speakers, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cloth seating and a rearview camera.
2018 Kia Forte
Don’t be misled by the compact size of the new Kia; it’s got features that you’d expect in a much more expensive vehicle, including a user-friendly infotainment system and satnav, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, LED taillights, power moonroof, and heated and powered side view mirrors. For a little extra the Kia Forte5 offers a trim package that includes chrome exhausts, puddle lamps, perimeter approach lighting, red-accented sporty front and rear fascia, and many other features.
2018 Honda Fit
There is room inside the 2018 Honda Fit that you wouldn’t expect from its outside looks; split-fold seats add to its cargo capacity. A new sporty trim, revamped front fascia, chrome exhaust detailing, black cloth upholstery with orange stitching, bright orange pin striping, and a 16 inch gloss black finish all help to lift this car out of the ordinary. Even the base (LX) model offers keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity, rearview camera, and a four speaker audio setup.
2018 Hyundai Elantra
The 2018 Hyundai Elantra offers a fun drive and masses of technology. There are eight different models to suit any budget, with a new 2018 Limited trim model, with the option of auto-dimming rearview mirrors and gloss black interior detailing. The Sport model comes with blindspot monitors and traffic alerts, alongside a powered sunroof. The basic SE model offers a four-speaker audio system along with connectivity for Bluetooth; the GT hatchback has a wealth of technology which includes Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and a SiriusXM satellite radio. The Blue Link package incorporates a Connected Care Package offering automatic collision notifications, roadside assistance and much more.
2018 Volkswagen Jetta
The 2018 Volkswagen Jetta offers excellent handling with European styling and even the base model, coming in at less than $20,000, has a turbocharged engine. It retains the excellent looks of the 2017 model, and has an exceptionally spacious interior for a vehicle of its size. 5-inch touchscreen, rearview camera, power-operated heated side mirrors, keyless entry, fog lights, LED lights, and splittable rear seats all come as standard.
2017 Subaru Impreza
If you don’t mind not having the very latest vehicle, this could be an excellent choice. The hatchback and the sedan have all-wheel-drive (AWD) as a standard feature, with a power-boosted engine that can take on any terrain. The vehicle offers extended cabin space and with a more rigid frame there has been a significant reduction in internal noise volume.
